The phrase “legally binding” is used when it’s an agreement that is not just done on a shaking of hands or a verbal “yes, we will do that”.

A ” legally binding” agreement is when a legal document is written up and both parties have signed the document.  And if one of them decides to pull out without mutual agreement, the other party can take them to court and sue them.
